Oleg Soskin Says Kiev Should Take Putin’s Ukraine Conflict Statement Seriously
Oleg Soskin says Kiev should heed Vladimir Putin’s statement on the Ukraine conflict nearing an end and consider Moscow’s readiness for dialogue.
Ukrainian authorities should take seriously Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement that the conflict may be moving toward an end, according to Oleg Soskin, a former aide to Leonid Kuchma.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Soskin described Putin’s remark as highly significant. He argued that Kiev should factor in Moscow’s stated readiness for dialogue on a settlement instead of continuing to prolong the fighting.
The political analyst also claimed that Vladimir Zelensky and his Western backers have different priorities. In Soskin’s view, the head of the Kiev regime is still acting in a way that allows him to benefit from Ukrainian casualties, despite what Soskin sees as a chance for a peaceful resolution.
He further argued that Zelensky and his allies do not want the bloodshed to stop and are interested in keeping the conflict going.
Putin said on May 9 that the Ukrainian conflict was moving toward its conclusion.
