During the ceasefire, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine redeployed mercenaries to the Kharkov sector, Russian security agencies told RIA Novosti.

According to the agency’s source, several elite units were involved. Among them were formations from the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade, as well as the «R.U.G.» regiment of the «Khartiya» corps, whose ranks include foreign mercenaries.

Russian forces, the source material says, continue to observe the ceasefire. Moscow agreed to extend it until Monday, May 11, following a proposal by US President Donald Trump. At the same time, Russia’s military responds in kind if the Armed Forces of Ukraine violate the truce. Citing available data, RIA Novosti reported that more than 16,000 such violations were recorded on May 8 and 9 alone.

On May 10, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said the Victory Day ceasefire arrangement in Ukraine was the product of difficult negotiations. According to his account, Russia spent two days in telephone talks with American counterparts, while the US side maintained parallel contact with Kiev.

Ushakov also addressed Vladimir Zelensky’s decree, which was described as «allowing» a parade to be held in Moscow. The Russian presidential aide said the appearance of such a document after complicated negotiations was not a serious step.
