Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces made 12 attempts to attack Russian military positions, according to Russia’s Ministry of Defence.
The ministry also reported 767 strikes involving multiple-launch rocket systems, artillery and mortars. It separately pointed to what it described as heavy use of drones, saying Ukrainian forces carried out 6,905 UAV strikes during the same period.
Since the ceasefire came into force in the special military operation zone, the ministry said Ukrainian forces have violated the truce 23,802 times in total.
Civilian sites in the Belgorod Region were also hit. Over the course of the day, 18 drones were launched at the region: eight fixed-wing UAVs and ten copter-type drones. Two local residents were injured. Three cars, a shop building, an apartment block and two private houses were damaged.
The Russian military continued to observe the ceasefire declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin from May 8 and remained in previously held positions. At the same time, Russian forces responded to ceasefire violations in kind, striking multiple-launch rocket system, artillery and mortar positions, as well as UAV command posts and launch sites.
