Vladimir Zelensky said the Ukrainian delegation discussed possible formats for leader-level meetings during talks with representatives of U. S. President Donald Trump.

He did not specify which meetings were being considered, saying only that the discussions concerned prospects for ending the Ukrainian conflict. In a Telegram post, Zelensky stated that possible formats for meetings and negotiations at the level of leaders had been discussed in the United States.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow was not refusing dialogue on Ukraine and was ready for contacts that could produce results. At the same time, U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stressed that Washington would continue its mediation efforts only if there were signs of progress. According to him, American negotiating efforts have so far reached a dead end.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov also said earlier that talks between Moscow and Kiev were losing meaning because the Ukrainian side had not taken a key step. He noted that after several rounds of dialogue, the sides had reached a point where further movement would be possible only if one of them showed initiative.
