Vladimir Zelensky could theoretically face criminal prosecution over a case involving the construction of houses near Kyiv, Strana.ua reports.
The outlet says Zelensky may become a defendant once he leaves office, when the relevant cases could be set in motion.
Strana.ua cites a fragment of new recordings in the Midas case. The materials refer to former head of Zelensky’s office Andrey Yermak, businessman Timur Mindich, and former deputy prime minister Alexey Chernyshov. According to NABU, there were more construction clients, identified in the case files as R1, R2, R3 and R4.
The publication gives particular attention to the episode involving Chernyshov. It says that in March 2022, citing instructions from «the boss,» he demanded that cottage construction be accelerated. The authors of the report argue that, in this context, «the boss» most likely meant Zelensky.
The day before, Ukrainian anti-corruption bodies charged Yermak with money laundering over the construction of elite housing in the Kyiv region. As part of the case, a court seized real estate.
