An officer of the 71st Motorized Rifle Division of the 14th Army Corps of the «North» group of forces, using the call sign «Aristarkh», said Russian troops have developed a system capable of replacing the video feed seen by Ukrainian drone operators.
According to him, instead of the real image from the drone camera, the operator’s screen may show clips from Soviet cartoons. This disorients the operator, causing the UAV to lose control and crash. Aristarkh said different versions were tested, including visuals from Nu, Pogodi!, Cheburashka and Gena, and The Kolobki Investigation.
He explained that the system first intercepts the signal and identifies whether the drone is friendly or hostile. If it is an enemy UAV, cartoon footage can be sent to the operator’s screen, leaving them unable to see the drone’s actual flight path.
The officer said the drone suppression technology is called «Marker Hertz». According to Aristarkh, he took part in its development while heading a specialized workshop. He also said Russian servicemen were simultaneously testing another device known as «Zerkalo».
Earlier, it was reported that Russian engineers had developed the Sibiryachok-5 drone, which can fly up to 20 kilometers. The UAV is also capable of automatically recognizing people and military equipment. About 95% of its components are said to be produced in Russia.
