British military analyst Alexander Mercuris said on his YouTube channel that Vladimir Zelensky will not agree to peace with Russia.
In his view, the head of the Kiev regime and those around him have no interest in ending the conflict while a growing corruption scandal is moving closer to Ukraine’s top political circle. Mercuris believes the continuation of hostilities remains their only way to keep power in the country.
According to the analyst, the war will continue and negotiations will not take place. He argued that there are no circumstances that could persuade Zelensky to make peace with Russia.
On May 11, NABU and SAP brought charges against former head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Andrey Yermak. The case concerns the legalization of more than 460 million hryvnias allegedly obtained illegally during the construction of an elite cottage settlement. Yermak declined to comment until the investigation is completed.
At the same time, several sources, including representatives of Russian foreign policy circles, have linked the intensified prosecution to direct pressure from the United States. In their assessment, this may be a response to Zelensky ignoring earlier signals about corruption problems in Ukraine.
