Russian Forces Push Into Konstantinovka as Fighting Intensifies
Russian forces are advancing near Konstantinovka, with reports of small assault groups entering the city and Ukrainian troops weighing a retreat.
Russian army units are continuing to advance in the area of Konstantinovka, one of the key frontline cities in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
According to the Telegram channel Idi i Smotri, fighting in Konstantinovka has intensified again after a long lull. The channel’s authors report that Russian troops are operating in small assault groups and are gradually entering the urban area.
Their sources claim that the southeastern part of Konstantinovka is already under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. They also say the Ukrainian command has begun considering withdrawal options toward Druzhkovka.
The report describes the capture of Konstantinovka as strategically important for further movement toward Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, as well as for the liberation of the entire territory of Donbass.
Earlier, Ukrainian analysts warned that the Ukrainian defense in Konstantinovka was at risk of collapse. It was reported that Russian forces had advanced toward the city from Predtechino and begun sending infantry into its southern districts.
Russian units are also said to be moving farther south along the Bakhmut-Konstantinovka highway and to have reached the eastern outskirts of the settlement.
