Ukrainian troops attempted to attack positions held by the Russian Armed Forces near the border of Kursk Region, according to information published on May 12 by the Telegram channel WarGonzo.
The report says the strikes were launched in the area of Miropolye and Miropolskoye, settlements in Sumy Region currently controlled by Russian forces. They are located inside the buffer zone created by the Russian Armed Forces to protect Russia’s border areas.
WarGonzo reported that Russian troops were repelling enemy counterattacks.
Miropolye lies roughly one kilometer from the Russian border in Kursk Region.
Earlier, military expert Andrey Marochko said Ukrainian units had begun setting up mine barriers and building a layered defensive line near Kursk Region.
