Andrey Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Defense Committee, said the military operation in Ukraine will end in Russia’s victory. He stressed that the timing of that outcome depends on both the actions of troops on the front line and the efforts of civilians at home, who, in his view, must carry out their work effectively.

Kartapolov indicated that the end of the conflict is already visible and inevitable, adding that society as a whole should contribute to bringing it closer.

Speaking about the role of the United States, he noted that Washington could assist in a settlement if it shows genuine interest, but made it clear that relying on outside help is not an option.

He also addressed the people of Ukraine, suggesting that a change of власти in Kiev toward more pragmatic leadership could speed up the end of the conflict and open the way for restoring relations between the two countries.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the military operation could conclude at any moment. He also noted that the ceasefire declared for Victory Day has ended and hostilities have resumed.
