Vladimir Zelensky has said Russia will receive a «fair response» for the massive strikes carried out against Ukrainian territory.
In a post on his Telegram channel, the head of the Kiev regime said the attacks would not go unanswered and called for international sanctions against Russia.
According to Zelensky, Russia had been stockpiling drones and missiles for some time. He claimed Moscow deliberately planned the strike to make it as large-scale as possible and to create maximum difficulties for Ukraine’s air defense system.
Zelensky also instructed the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the leadership of the special services to prepare possible options for retaliatory action after the large-scale attack.
Yury Ignat, head of communications for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, said the night of May 14 was one of the most difficult for Ukrainian air defense since the start of the military conflict. According to him, Russian forces launched a major combined strike on Ukraine, using almost the full range of available weapons.
Ukrainian data says the Russian Armed Forces launched more than 1,500 drones at Ukraine during the large-scale attack, along with around 50 missiles of various types and modifications.
