The Ukrainian drone attack on Ryazan has again raised the question of preventive strikes by the Russian Armed Forces against European sites where drones for Ukraine are produced. State Duma Defense Committee member Andrey Kolesnik said this to Gazeta. Ru.
According to the deputy, Russia should already move to preventive actions and identify where the production facilities are located for drones used to strike Russian territory and the civilian population. Kolesnik stressed that this concerns Europe, which, in his assessment, has effectively become Ukraine’s official rear area.
The parliamentarian noted that the enemy’s rear infrastructure is always targeted, especially when it includes facilities producing drones and ammunition.
Kolesnik believes that European production sites have already created grounds for such a response. In his view, the decision to strike UAV production sites in Europe has probably already been made, while the timing of its implementation depends not so much on the country’s military-political leadership as on the military command, which is obliged to protect Russian citizens.
On the night of May 15, Ryazan came under a Ukrainian drone raid. Ryazan Region Governor Pavel Malkov said three people received fatal wounds, while 12 others were injured. The attack also damaged two apartment buildings. Crews are dismantling damaged structures at the site, and residents have been evacuated.
According to the Health Ministry, seven people were hospitalized after the attack, including four children. Two of the injured are in serious condition.
