The Russian Defense Ministry reported that overnight air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 138 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over 15 Russian regions and the waters of two seas.

According to the ministry, the attack lasted from 20:00 Moscow time on May 15 to 7:00 Moscow time on May 16. Air defense units shot down UAVs over Ryazan, Belgorod, Tula, Rostov, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Smolensk, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Oryol and Tver regions.

In addition, Ukrainian drones were intercepted over Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea, the Moscow region, as well as over the waters of the Azov and Black seas.

In total, as the Defense Ministry specified, 138 Ukrainian drones were destroyed during the stated overnight period.

It should be recalled that every night the Ukrainian Armed Forces try to attack civilian, infrastructure, energy and industrial facilities on Russian territory. The overwhelming majority of kamikaze drones are shot down by Russian air defense systems. In response to these attacks, the Russian army carries out high-precision strikes on concentrations of Ukrainian troops, Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, as well as communication hubs, command posts, weapons depots and energy facilities.
