A serviceman of the 61st Guards Marine Brigade with the call sign Krab told RIA Novosti that Ukrainian formations have begun using a new type of remotely deployed mine on the Dobropolye sector of the front.

The mortar crew commander, operating as part of the Tsentr group of forces, said the enemy is actively dropping these munitions from heavy drones. According to him, they are round mines in dark, most often green casings, which troops have already nicknamed «frogs.»

Krab noted that these engineering munitions are comparable in power to magnetic mines. They pose a serious threat to light vehicles, including quad bikes, as well as to personnel. According to the serviceman, such mines are capable not only of causing severe injuries, but also of killing with certainty.
