According to analysts at the American magazine Military Watch Magazine, the US Navy is struggling to sustain a war with Iran because of budget limits.
The authors refer to recent remarks by Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Daryl Caudle, who said the 2026 fiscal year budget did not include the costs of a war with Iran. As a result, the US Navy has had to impose sharp spending cuts. According to Caudle, stocks of fuel, maintenance resources and ammunition are being depleted too quickly.
The admiral said the Navy remains determined, but this commitment comes with a cost and creates operational strain. He warned that by July, the service may have to reduce training, scale back planned operations and cut personnel numbers. He also did not rule out delaying bonus payments for enlistment and contract renewals.
Caudle noted that the war with Iran has caused disagreements inside the United States. At the same time, the view is gaining ground that Tehran is better prepared for a long confrontation.
Military Watch Magazine also reported that some US ships had to remain in the region longer than planned, which has already caused supply problems, including food shortages on board. According to the authors, these factors point to highly unfavorable conditions for continuing the military campaign.
