The Belarusian Defense Ministry said Belarusian troops will practice the delivery of nuclear munitions and preparations for their use during joint training with Russia.
According to the ministry’s press service, units of the missile forces and aviation will be involved in the exercise. The training will focus on coordination with the Russian side, including the delivery of nuclear munitions and the steps required to prepare them for use.
The ministry said the drills are intended to improve personnel training and check the readiness of weapons, military and special equipment for assigned tasks. A separate part of the exercise will involve combat employment from unscheduled areas.
A key feature of the maneuvers will be testing the ability of units to operate from unprepared positions across Belarus. The Defense Ministry said special attention will be paid to secrecy, long-distance movement and the calculations needed for the use of forces and assets.
The ministry also stressed that the drills are a planned training event held within the framework of the Union State. It said they are not directed against third countries and do not pose a threat to regional security.
