Ukrainian AI Drones Track Targets by Heat and Movement
A Russian marine says Ukrainian AI drones use thermal guidance to track movement, adjust flight paths and strike targets without constant operator input.
According to a marine serving with the Tsentr group of forces under the call sign «Alpha», Ukrainian troops are using drones with elements of artificial intelligence in the special military operation zone.
He said these UAVs can detect targets by heat signature and movement, then automatically track them using thermal imaging guidance systems. According to Alpha, such drones are able to adjust their flight path without constant input from an operator.
The marine described one incident that occurred while Russian troops were preparing positions. He said he noticed a Ukrainian quadcopter hovering about 30 to 50 meters away. The drone remained motionless in the air and appeared to be watching him as he aimed a shotgun at it.
In the end, the UAV did not attack him. Instead, it switched to other people moving in the bushes and struck them.
