Russia Shoots Down 81 Ukrainian UAVs in Overnight Attack
Russian air defense intercepted 81 Ukrainian drones in one night, most over Voronezh and Belgorod. Moscow responds with precision strikes on Ukrainian targets.
During the night, Russia’s air defense systems repelled a large-scale drone assault, downing 81 Ukrainian UAVs of the aircraft type. The Ministry of Defense reported that the heaviest activity was recorded over Voronezh and Belgorod regions, where 26 and 25 drones were destroyed respectively. Another 12 were intercepted in Rostov region, 11 in Kursk, and 7 in Volgograd.
Ukrainian forces continue to launch daily strikes with kamikaze drones against both border and central regions of Russia. Most of these attempts, however, are detected and neutralized by on-duty air defense units.
In response to such raids, the Russian military conducts precision strikes on designated targets. According to the ministry, these include workshops assembling drones, facilities of Ukraine’s defense industry, Ukrainian army positions, and depots holding weapons and equipment.
