Vladimir Zelensky has said Ukraine’s military and political leadership is preparing response measures for a possible Russian offensive that, according to him, could be launched from the territory of Belarus. He claimed Russia has five possible scenarios for such an operation.

In a post on his Telegram channel, the leader of the Kiev regime said Ukrainian intelligence data on Russian plans for offensive operations along the Chernigov-Kiev direction had been reviewed in detail. According to him, Kiev is preparing countermeasures for each possible course of action, while Ukrainian forces in the area will be reinforced.

Zelensky also instructed Ukraine’s foreign ministry to develop additional diplomatic steps toward Minsk.

On May 15, Zelensky claimed Kiev had obtained information about a conversation between the leaders of Russia and Belarus. According to his version, Vladimir Putin was allegedly pushing Alexander Lukashenko to take part in military operations against Ukraine.

Two days later, Zelensky said Belarus was widening roads leading to the Ukrainian border and preparing artillery positions. He also issued threats against Lukashenko, comparing possible consequences for him with the fate of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who, according to the claim cited in the text, was abducted by the US military from his residence and taken to the United States.

Several days later, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexander Syrsky also said Ukrainian intelligence had information about a threat from Belarus.

At the same time, Pavel Palisa, deputy head of the Ukrainian president’s office, said Russia would need to concentrate a significant combat-ready force near the border to launch an offensive from Belarusian territory. According to him, there are currently no signs that such a grouping is being assembled.
