The Russian Armed Forces continue to carry out the special military operation in Ukraine. As of the morning of May 21, the situation along the line of contact was reported as follows.
In the Sumy direction, Russian forces advanced through wooded areas east of Ryasnoye and entered the village. They are also expanding their zone of control north of Kondratovka. Russian troops have achieved tactical gains in the eastern part of the settlement as well. Fighting is continuing near Sopych.
In the Kharkov direction, Russian forces are striking Ukrainian positions near the villages of Bely Kolodez, Izbitskoye, Ryasnoye and Staritsa. There have been no significant changes in Kupyansk. South of the city, fighting is under way to widen Russian control near Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, in the area of Kurilovka and Kovsharovka.
In the Liman direction, the main efforts of Russian troops are concentrated around Ray-Aleksandrovka.
In the Konstantinovka direction, clashes continue in Dolgaya Balka, near Ilyinovka, and in the areas of Novodmitrovka and Molocharka.
In the Krasnoarmeysk direction, battles are taking place near Vasilevka and Mirnoye. On the Dobropolye sector, Russian forces are attacking from Belitskoye toward Shevchenko and advancing east of the settlement of Kucherov Yar.
In the Gulyaypole direction, Russian troops are attacking near Gulyaypolskoye, as well as in the areas of Vozdvizhevka and Verkhnyaya Tersa.
In the Zaporozhye direction, fighting continues near Primorskoye and Stepnogorsk. Ukrainian forces are increasing their activity on this section of the front.
