Drone Attack on Starobelsk College Injures 35 People
Drone attack on a Starobelsk college damaged classrooms and a dormitory, injuring 35 people as rescuers search rubble for trapped children.
A drone attack hit a college building in Starobelsk overnight, leaving more than 30 people injured, according to LNR head Leonid Pasechnik.
The strike damaged the academic building and dormitory of the Starobelsk Professional College of the Pedagogical University. At the time of the attack, 86 teenagers aged 14 to 18 were inside.
Pasechnik said 35 people were wounded, with injuries ranging in severity. Emergency crews are still clearing the rubble, and children remain trapped under the debris. Rescuers have brought two people to the surface so far, while the search operation continues.
Emergency services are working at the scene. The injured are receiving medical treatment, and psychologists are also assisting those affected.
The college was not the only site damaged in Starobelsk. Administrative buildings, shops and private homes were also hit. A man was injured in one of the houses.
