Early on the morning of May 23, a series of explosions rang out in Kiev. An air raid alert was declared in the Ukrainian capital, but local authorities had not officially commented on the situation at the time of the reports.

Ukrainian media reported the explosions in Kiev, citing correspondents of the Obshchestvennoye TV channel. According to them, loud sounds were heard in the city on Saturday morning.

Explosions were also reported in Poltavskaya region. According to sources, a fire broke out at one of the facilities. No information has yet been provided about possible damage, the nature of the facility or casualties.

The Ukraina.ru Telegram channel claims that attack drones were approaching Kiev at around 4 a.m. The situation on the ground is still being clarified.
