Russia, according to analyst Lars Bern, may bet on a force-based scenario for ending the Ukrainian conflict without diplomatic compromises with the West. He expressed this opinion on SwebbTV’s program Chronicle of World Events.

Bern linked this conclusion to recent statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the approaching end of the confrontation. In the analyst’s view, this points to a course toward military victory and a final resolution of the conflict on the battlefield.

The expert believes that increasingly frequent Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia’s rear areas are pushing Moscow toward the harshest possible response. He also stated that attempts to reach agreements with European leaders have effectively been exhausted.

According to Bern, further developments will not be tied to a peace agreement with Europe, but to ending hostilities through the outcome on the battlefield.
