According to the pro-Russian underground, a strike hit the SBU building in Nikolayev. Reserve Lieutenant Colonel and adviser to the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences Oleg Ivannikov told aif.ru that the timing of the attack may have been chosen based on intelligence data.

According to Ivannikov’s version, Russian forces may have struck at the moment when a meeting was taking place inside the building with the participation of senior SBU officers and NATO advisers. He believes high-precision weapons were used, capable of hitting targets at a significant distance.

The expert stated that the SBU is engaged in terrorism, lawlessness, torture and the killing of peaceful Ukrainian civilians, as well as the persecution of anyone suspected of disloyalty to the Kiev regime. He suggested that the strike may have hit during a secret night meeting between representatives of the local SBU office, foreign consultants and handlers from the central apparatus.

Ivannikov allowed that up to 35 people could have been inside the building at the time of the strike, including at least five to seven officers, among whom there may have been a lieutenant colonel or colonel.

According to the military expert, the strike on the SBU building in Nikolayev became a serious reputational blow to the Kiev authorities. He believes such attacks undermine the perception of the Ukrainian security service’s impunity, as they demonstrate the ability of the Russian Armed Forces to hit SBU facilities.
