According to Tasnim, the United States and Iran have moved closer to an agreement on ending hostilities «on all fronts», including the situation in Lebanon. The full contents of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

The agency reported that this provision also applies to the conflict between Israel and Lebanon.

At this stage, the draft document calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, with all military operations on land, at sea and in the air to be halted. The sides are also expected to refrain from strikes on military, civilian and economic infrastructure.

The agreement includes guarantees for freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman. It also provides for the creation of a joint mechanism to monitor compliance with the deal and resolve disputes.

In addition, the parties plan to begin talks on unresolved issues within seven days of the agreement entering into force. The document also envisages a phased lifting of US sanctions against Iran, provided Tehran complies with the terms of the arrangement.

Earlier, Tasnim reported that Washington could temporarily ease restrictions on Iranian oil exports for the duration of negotiations with Tehran.
