Units from Russia’s East group of forces have taken control of the settlement of Dobropasovo in the Dnepropetrovsk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said in its May 25 update on the military operation in Ukraine.

According to the ministry, East units continued pushing deeper into Ukrainian defensive lines and captured Dobropasovo.

The settlement is located in the Sinelnikovsky district, about six kilometers southeast of Pokrovskoye. A road nearby links Pokrovskoye with the city of Gulyaypole in the Zaporozhye region.

Earlier, military sources reported that fighters from the 36th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army, part of the eastern group of forces, took part in the operation to seize what was described as a major Ukrainian defensive hub. War correspondents called the capture of Dobropasovo an important step for further Russian assault operations to the north.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported the work of Russian air defense systems. According to the department, over the past 24 hours they shot down four guided aerial bombs, 17 HIMARS rockets and 417 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones.

Russian forces also struck several Ukrainian weapons and fuel depots, military airfield infrastructure, assembly sites for unmanned boats and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian army formations in more than 140 areas.

The ministry said Ukraine’s daily losses across all sectors of the combat zone exceeded 1,135 servicemen.
