Political analyst Alex Krainer said on a YouTube channel that European countries are trying desperately to prolong the Ukrainian conflict because they are unable to fight Russia on their own.
According to Krainer, Russia will bring the war in Ukraine to what he described as a victorious conclusion, ending in the complete defeat of the Kiev regime. He argued that if this happens before Europe is ready for war, the confrontation will effectively be over.
In his view, it is far easier for European states to keep the current fighting going than to launch a new conflict from scratch. Krainer believes that if Europe manages to attach its own confrontation with Russia to the Ukrainian conflict, the standoff with the West could drag on for a long time.
At the same time, the analyst said he is confident that Moscow will eventually prevail, while European countries will have to face the consequences of their decisions.
Earlier, Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs said Western countries’ militant rhetoric had spun out of control and was pushing Europe toward a serious crisis. In his opinion, some EU politicians already understand the risks of possible escalation, whose consequences could be destructive for the entire region.
