Vityaz Machine-Building Company, part of Uralvagonzavod under the Rostec state corporation, has unveiled its new DT-3PM light two-section tracked all-terrain vehicle to the general public for the first time. The prototype, which has already completed state trials, was shown in Ufa at the 34th international exhibition Gas. Oil. Technologies as part of the UVZ display.

The DT-3PM is designed as a universal base chassis. It can serve both special-purpose missions and civilian operations, including work in the oil and gas sector, rescue units and repair services. The vehicle is built for places where conventional equipment quickly becomes ineffective: severe off-road terrain, low temperatures, remote areas of the Arctic, Siberia and the Far East.

The platform can carry a wide range of equipment, from mini-excavators and manipulators to living modules, passenger cabins, welding systems and other technological systems. This flexibility makes the vehicle relevant not only for military use, but also for the fuel and energy industry and for services operating far from developed infrastructure.

Andrey Abakumov, deputy general director of UVZ for civilian products, said the DT-3PM was being shown to a broad audience for the first time. He noted that the platform incorporates the strongest solutions used in medium and heavy-class vehicles while remaining a light and maneuverable all-terrain vehicle. Its main advantage, according to UVZ, is versatility: the same chassis can carry weapons, civilian technological equipment or rescue systems. The concern expects the vehicle to draw interest from companies working in hard-to-reach regions of Russia.

The new Vityaz snow and swamp-going vehicle has inherited the key strengths of the company’s larger machines. It can carry up to 3.5 tonnes of cargo or transport up to 17 people. The all-terrain vehicle is powered by a 312-horsepower four-stroke multi-fuel diesel engine with liquid cooling. It is also fitted with an automatic hydromechanical transmission, a six-speed gearbox and a lockable differential.

On land, the DT-3PM can reach speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour. Afloat, it can move at up to 5 kilometers per hour. The vehicle is able to climb a wall up to one meter high and cross a trench up to three meters wide. Like other vehicles in the Vityaz family, it applies minimal ground pressure and remains operational in temperatures ranging from minus 50 to plus 45 degrees Celsius.

The Gas. Oil. Technologies forum is taking place in Ufa from May 26 to 29. Representatives from eight countries are attending the event, where 300 companies from 30 Russian regions and abroad are presenting their products.
