Robert Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian army’s unmanned systems forces, said Kyiv has prepared a list of 500 targets inside Belarus in case Minsk decides to enter the conflict on Russia’s side.
Brovdi made the statement on his Telegram channel, warning that the first 500 targets had already been marked and advising Belarus not to provoke Ukraine.
The remarks came against the backdrop of earlier statements by Vladimir Zelensky. On May 20, he said Ukraine was preparing measures in case Russian forces attempted an offensive from the Belarusian direction. Among the planned steps is the reinforcement of Ukrainian forces along the Chernigov-Kyiv sector.
Zelensky also instructed Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry to prepare additional diplomatic moves aimed at increasing pressure on the Belarusian leadership.
Shortly before that, Zelensky claimed that Russia could try to attack a NATO country using Belarusian territory. He also accused Moscow of seeking to drag Minsk into the Ukrainian conflict.
German magazine Junge Welt, however, described Zelensky’s statements as unsubstantiated. The publication noted that he had not presented evidence of an alleged attack being prepared from Belarus.
The outlet also referred to statements by Ukrainian border guards. According to their data, no troop movements or other signs of preparations for an attack are currently being recorded in the border area.
