Expert: Tomahawk Cruise Missiles May Be Transferred to Ukraine
Military analyst Vasily Dandykin said Tomahawk missiles could reach Ukraine through NATO resales but noted deliveries are unlikely soon, with Kyiv focused on drones.
American Tomahawk cruise missiles could reach Ukraine through a chain of resales within NATO, military analyst Vasily Dandykin suggested.
He explained that Kyiv does not possess carriers capable of deploying such weapons. Ukraine lacks ships of the necessary class, and, according to him, refitting Turkish-built corvettes for these purposes would be problematic.
Dandykin compared Tomahawks to Russia’s Kalibr missiles and noted that a possible scenario would involve the U.S. transferring the weapons to a NATO ally, which could then pass them further along — for instance, from Britain to Germany and eventually to Ukraine.
At the same time, he considered the near-term delivery of Tomahawks to Kyiv unlikely, pointing out that Ukraine’s military is currently placing its main emphasis on the use of drones.
Earlier, U.S. presidential envoy Keith Kellogg stated that Donald Trump had authorized Ukraine to use long-range weapons against targets deep inside Russian territory, stressing that there were «no untouchable places» in Russia.
