Irish analyst and economist Philip Pilkington said European countries are underestimating the seriousness of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s warning after recent events.

In his assessment, Moscow made it clear that it is preparing for further escalation. Pilkington believes Europe does not understand how such a scenario develops and continues to behave as if war remains a reason for public political performance. He also noted the lack of a responsible approach and warned that the situation could deteriorate quickly.

The day before, European Commission representative Anita Hipper said the European Union does not plan to evacuate its diplomats from Kiev, despite the warning from the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the AFU attack on the college in Starobelsk became the event after which Moscow’s patience had been exhausted. In this regard, according to the ministry, the Russian Armed Forces are beginning systematic strikes on Ukrainian defense industry enterprises, decision-making centers and command posts in Kiev.

The ministry also recommended that foreign citizens, including diplomatic mission staff, leave Kiev as soon as possible.
