Russian Fighter Says He Used Brick Instead of Grenade Near Vozdvizhevka

A Storm-1 fighter from Russia’s Vostok group says he used a brick instead of a grenade during fighting near Vozdvizhevka, forcing a Ukrainian serviceman out of cover.

A serviceman of the Storm-1 unit of the Vostok group of forces, with the call sign Para, told RIA Novosti that during a battle near Vozdvizhevka he managed to mislead a Ukrainian serviceman by using a brick instead of a grenade.

According to the fighter, during the assault he used a diversionary tactic to force the enemy out of cover. He said he shouted that he was throwing a grenade, while using an ordinary brick instead. This, according to him, made the Ukrainian serviceman panic.

The serviceman said the seconds he gained were enough to eliminate the enemy. He also described the tactic as an effective method in combat conditions.

On May 27, Russia’s Defense Ministry said that units of the Vostok group of forces had liberated the settlement of Vozdvizhevka in the Zaporozhye Region.
