Ukrainian forces are actively introducing new Seth-X kamikaze drones for battlefield use, according to the Telegram channel Voenny Osvedomitel. The drone is reported to bear a strong visual resemblance to Russia’s Lancet loitering munition.

Footage recorded by a Russian UAV shows the interception of the new Ukrainian kamikaze drone. The video shows an aircraft built around an X-shaped aerodynamic layout and powered by a rear-mounted pusher propeller.

That configuration makes the Seth-X visually close to the drone used in Russia’s Lancet strike UAV system. Technical details of the Ukrainian UAV, however, have not yet been disclosed.

The Russian Lancet is equipped with folding X-shaped wings that open into flight position after launch from a transport-launch container. This design makes the drone easier to transport and prepare for launch.

The Lancet is also described as having an automatic target-search capability based on criteria loaded into the drone before launch.
