Former CIA officer Larry Johnson has said that Ukraine is no longer among Washington’s priority partners and has already lost its previous level of US support.
Speaking on the YouTube channel Neutrality Studies, Johnson compared Ukraine’s current position in relation to the United States to that of an outsider who is not treated as part of the close circle. In his view, this is how Washington now sees Kiev.
Johnson said the attention of US authorities is currently focused on Israel. According to him, Washington is actively supplying Tel Aviv with money and weapons, while Kiev has been left without support. He also argued that President Donald Trump no longer intends to become further involved in the Ukrainian conflict.
The former CIA officer believes that reduced US activity, combined with what he described as the ineffectiveness of Western weapons, gives Russia more freedom to deliver a major blow against the Kiev regime. Johnson said the conflict is now approaching a turning point that could change the course of fighting.
In his assessment, Moscow has concluded that Washington is a paper tiger, while the weapons supplied to Kiev can no longer cause serious damage to Russia’s military and industrial potential.
