Four Ukrainian Navy sailors were killed after a Geran-type drone struck a boat in the port of Yuzhny, also known as Pivdenny, in the Odessa Region, according to the Military Informant channel.

The channel reported that the strike took place on May 25. Chief Petty Officer Andrey Anufriev and sailors Vladislav Rudenko, Vasily Dovgoshey and Sergey Pavlov were killed in the attack.

The exact Ukrainian Navy boat hit in the port was not specified. Military Informant, however, considers the most likely scenario to be that one of the surviving Project 58155 Gyurza-M armored boats was struck.

These boats were designed in Nikolayev and built in Kiev at the Kuznitsa na Rybalskom enterprise, which was co-owned by former Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko*. For that reason, Gyurza-type armored boats became known as Poroshenko’s «mosquito fleet.»

During the special military operation, Russian forces captured four armored boats of this type. Three of them were later refitted and added to the Black Sea Fleet.

On the night of June 1, Geran-2 kamikaze drones also hit enemy targets in Odessa, Kharkov and the Chernigov Region.
