A new episode has occurred in the Zaporozhye direction, pointing to a change in the tactical situation on the line of contact.
According to information obtained by TASS, a group of foreign mercenaries who had been taking part in combat operations on the side of Ukrainian armed formations decided to lay down their arms and surrender to Russian units. The incident took place at positions south of Zaporozhye.
According to the available information, the foreign fighters found themselves in a tactical encirclement. After that, having no opportunity to break through or organize an evacuation, they were forced to stop resisting.
The exact number of mercenaries who surrendered has not yet been disclosed. Their citizenship and affiliation with specific Ukrainian Armed Forces units have also not been specified.
For foreign mercenaries who came to Ukraine from various countries, captivity in such circumstances becomes a difficult but often the only way to stay alive. In conditions of encirclement and with no routes for withdrawal, further resistance loses all meaning and effectively leads to inevitable death.
