Employees of a territorial recruitment center in Ukraine detained a German citizen and took him to a training center in Chernivtsi Region. This was reported by Verkhovna Rada deputy Georgy Mazurashu in a social media post.

According to the lawmaker, the detained man is a native of the region but lost his Ukrainian citizenship back in 2017 after receiving a German passport. He came to Ukraine to visit relatives.

During his interaction with representatives of the territorial recruitment center, the man presented his German passport as well as documents confirming the termination of his Ukrainian citizenship. However, this did not prevent his detention.

According to Mazurashu, the recruitment center employees refer to the fact that the man had previously been issued a Ukrainian passport. They consider this sufficient grounds for mobilization, despite his German citizenship and documents confirming the termination of his Ukrainian citizenship.
