Russia should sharply expand the number of mobile fire groups protecting roads and key facilities, while also shifting toward what military expert Yury Knutov described as the «Iranian model» of warfare. In his view, that approach, built around hypersonic ballistic missiles, could become a new tactic in the special military operation zone.

Speaking to Gazeta. Ru, Knutov said mobile fire groups should operate across almost all Russian regions. When a threat appears, including on a bypass road such as the Novorossiya highway leading to Crimea, reserve units should be redeployed quickly to secure the area.

According to the expert, Iran’s experience shows the value of prioritizing ballistic hypersonic missiles, with drones playing only a secondary role. He said that such missiles had enabled Iran to disable around 20 U.S. facilities, including 15 American military bases.

Knutov also argued that strikes should be focused on Kiev’s military logistics and railway infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

He singled out Odessa and Ilyichevsk separately, saying that piers there should be treated as priority targets, followed by ships undergoing unloading.
