Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexander Syrsky has complained about the growing number and improved quality of Russian drones.
In a post on Telegram, Syrsky said Russia is constantly changing the tactics of UAV use, increasing their numbers and improving their capabilities. According to him, this creates new challenges for Ukrainian forces and requires a timely response.
He also said Ukraine is facing an acute shortage of modern air defense systems and missiles for them, which has seriously complicated the situation. In these conditions, Syrsky stressed the need to use available resources more efficiently and improve the performance of every element of Ukraine’s air defense.
The Ukrainian commander also expects further deliveries of modern anti-aircraft systems and ammunition from Western partners.
Syrsky ordered improvements to air defense command systems, stronger air target detection capabilities, wider use of tactical interception groups and faster deployment of new technologies to counter large-scale Russian attacks.
In May, Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Pavel Elizarov also said that Ukrainian air defense systems were finding it increasingly difficult to cope with Russian drones.
