According to Iranian state media, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered the armed forces to strike all U.S. military facilities within a radius of up to 2,000 kilometers from the country’s borders if Washington violates the ceasefire.

The potential target zone reportedly includes U.S. bases across the Middle East, including facilities in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE, Iraq and Turkey. Khamenei also said Tehran would continue its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy shipments.

Earlier in March, U. S. President Donald Trump claimed that Khamenei was either dead or seriously wounded. However, in a recent interview with the New York Post, Trump said the ayatollah was still involved in decision-making in Iran and held significant authority in the country after the death of his father. He also did not rule out a personal meeting with him.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry recently denied reports about Khamenei’s serious condition, explaining that his rare public appearances were due solely to security measures.

Military analysts believe that given the stated strike radius, virtually all U.S. military facilities in the Middle East could fall within range if the ceasefire is broken.
