Russia has returned 185 of its servicemen from territory controlled by Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The exchange was carried out under a 185-for-185 formula.

The ministry specified that the exchange took place on June 5. The returned Russian servicemen are currently in Belarus. Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova is working with them.

According to the ministry, after receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance, the Russian servicemen will be transported to Russia. They will undergo further treatment and rehabilitation in medical facilities of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Similar prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine are held regularly. Diplomats from the United Arab Emirates act as mediators in these exchanges.
