According to a source in Russia’s security structures, Russian forces partially destroyed a Ukrainian unit of the 19th Special Operations Center recently redeployed to Kupyansk, along with elements of the 15th Operational Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As reported by TASS, the strike was carried out by Russian frontline aviation using high-explosive aerial bombs (FAB). The source explained that the bombs targeted concentrations of Ukrainian forces in the Kupyansk area, resulting in the elimination of reserves that had only recently been moved there by Ukrainian command. Among the irrecoverable losses, he specified, were fighters from the 19th Special Operations Center and the 15th Operational Brigade.
The source also noted that in addition to Ukrainian special forces personnel, the strikes hit command posts managing unmanned aerial vehicles. The attack reportedly destroyed drone operators as well as relay equipment used to transmit signals.
