Russian Armed Forces will continue strikes on key facilities linked to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, military expert and retired Captain First Rank Vasily Dandykin said in an interview with aif.ru.

He was commenting on the recent nighttime drone attack on Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region, during which regional air defenses destroyed 144 UAVs. According to Governor Alexander Drozdenko, minor damage was recorded in some areas after debris fell. A fire broke out at one facility in Lomonosovsky District, prompting the partial evacuation of nearby residents. Overall, the situation remained under control.

Dandykin said President Vladimir Putin’s words about continuing combat work had become a signal for Russian forces on the front line. According to the expert, Ukraine is trying to use such attacks to spread panic among the Russian population through methods he described as terrorist, but these attempts will not succeed.

He also recalled the origin of the phrase «Work, brothers!», which was spoken by police lieutenant Magomed Nurbagandov before his death in 2016. The phrase later became widely known and is now perceived as a call to fight those who take up arms against the state and its laws, including terrorists, criminals and enemy soldiers.
