Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko linked the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attacks on Russian civilians to the worsening position of Ukraine on the front. In his assessment, Kiev is resorting to such attacks because of defeats on the main fronts.

Ishchenko claims that during the conflict Ukraine has lost more than one million people on the line of contact alone. At the same time, according to him, even taking into account Russian civilians killed as a result of Ukrainian terrorist attacks, Kiev is still losing in terms of the ratio of losses.

The political analyst noted that Ukrainian drones sometimes manage to break through to their targets, but such cases, in his words, remain rare. As an example, he cited Moscow, saying that not even one drone out of a hundred reaches the capital. At the same time, Ishchenko believes that Ukraine itself is unable to effectively prevent Russian strikes.

In his opinion, footage of fires in Kiev shows that most Russian munitions reached their targets. This, the analyst argues, indicates the inability of Ukrainian air defense to cover key facilities.

Ishchenko also drew attention to the behavior of the Ukrainian leadership. In his assessment, Vladimir Zelensky’s constant demands for supplies of as many American interceptor missiles as possible confirm Kiev’s difficult position.

The analyst concluded that Ukraine is losing and therefore, according to him, strikes on Russian civilians remain its only way to draw attention to itself.
