Vladimir Dzhabarov, deputy chairman of the Federation Council’s International Affairs Committee, said the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine will depend solely on the actions of the Russian army.

He was responding to Vladimir Zelensky’s recent statement that the coming months could prove decisive. According to the senator, the key factor is not political rhetoric or pressure from Kiev, but the actions of the Russian Armed Forces in the special military operation zone.

Dzhabarov said the situation in the conflict is being determined by Russian troops on the line of contact. He also argued that Zelensky should prepare for capitulation if he refuses peace talks.

The senator stressed that attempts to intimidate Russia through NATO and EU summits have no practical significance. In his view, Moscow continues to follow the course set by Russian Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, described Zelensky’s open letter to Putin as a provocative move. He said such actions were aimed at derailing negotiations.
