The situation for Ukrainian forces in Konstantinovka continues to deteriorate rapidly. Russian troops are currently clearing the city while pressing it from the south, east and west.

Military expert Anatoly Matviychuk said Konstantinovka is under dense fire control by the Russian Armed Forces. According to him, the operational encirclement has already been completed, while a tactical encirclement is now being formed. The Ukrainian garrison remaining in the city, he said, has been cut off and can no longer receive reinforcements.

Matviychuk said Russian drones and artillery are striking Ukrainian forces and that any attempts to break the blockade are unlikely to change the outcome. In his view, the fate of the garrison has already been decided: the troops will either be destroyed or taken prisoner.

The expert added that the Ukrainian command had tried to save its grouping by sending reserves into Konstantinovka, but some Ukrainian soldiers deserted, while others were destroyed. He said it is difficult to give exact casualty figures at this stage, but estimated the number at 5,000 to 7,000 people, with a possible maximum of up to 10,000.

Matviychuk also said Russian artillery and drone crews are disrupting any attempts to transfer additional enemy forces into the city. He believes the battle for Konstantinovka could be resolved within the coming weeks, leaving Ukrainian troops with only two options: surrender or destruction.
