Russian forces have established control over the village of Okhrimovka in the northern part of the Kharkov Region.

According to military Telegram channels, the assault on the village began several weeks ago. Russian troops first took the area north of the Volchya River and then gradually expanded their zone of control. After that, Ukrainian forces were pushed out of most of Okhrimovka, although part of the village remained in the gray zone for some time.

The Telegram channel Severny Veter reported that the capture of Okhrimovka significantly expands the security belt along this section of the front. It described the village as the enemy’s main fortified position in the northern part of the Volchansk District after Russian forces took the district center.

The defense of Okhrimovka was reportedly held by units of Ukraine’s 159th Separate Mechanized Brigade. Their positions were broken through by assault groups of the 126th Motor Rifle Regiment, part of the 71st Guards Motor Rifle Division of the 14th Army Corps of the Leningrad Military District.

The advance was supported by drone strikes, artillery and flamethrower units of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops. They targeted Ukrainian supply lines and provided direct support to Russian assault groups.

Experts believe the capture of Okhrimovka reduces the threat of Ukrainian attacks on border areas of the Belgorod Region and creates conditions for further Russian advances toward Malaya Volchya and Khripuny.
