Russian Forces Push Deeper Into Northern Donetsk Region
Russian forces report advances in the Donetsk People’s Republic, with fighting in Konstantinovka and nearby fortified Ukrainian positions.
Russian troops are continuing their advance across the Donetsk People’s Republic. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, units of the Southern Group of Forces are moving forward along a broad front in the northern part of the region.
The main fighting is now focused on Ukrainian army formations holding positions in the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk-Konstantinovka fortified area. In Konstantinovka, assault units from the Southern Group are engaged in combat inside the city’s built-up districts.
The ministry said Russian forces have taken full control of the eastern part of Konstantinovka and reached the city’s northeastern outskirts. Fighting is also continuing in the southwestern districts, as well as on the grounds of the Konstantinovka Metallurgical Plant, where surrounded Ukrainian units remain.
Assault groups are also advancing in the Novoselovka neighborhood. In areas already taken, Russian soldiers are carrying out clearing operations, searching for and eliminating scattered Ukrainian army groups and individual fighters.
