Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the new authorized strength of the Russian Armed Forces. According to the decree published on the official legal information portal, it has been set at 2,399,130 people. Of these, 1,510,000 are servicemen.

The document directly establishes the total strength of the Russian Armed Forces and separately specifies the number of servicemen in the army.

Earlier, Putin said Russian weapons should not merely adapt to the enemy’s actions, but stay one step ahead. According to the president, work in this direction is already underway.

Before that, the head of state said Russian troops are advancing every day in the zone of the special military operation. He noted that if one follows the reports closely, messages regularly appear about new settlements coming under the control of the Russian army.

Putin also recalled that recently Russian troops have taken control of almost 2,500 square kilometers of territory.
