On the night of June 13, Ukraine faced a continued threat of the use of Russian Zircon hypersonic missiles. This was reported by the Telegram channel Zerkalo Nedeli, citing monitoring sources.

The publication listed the main characteristics of these missiles and explained why they pose a serious threat. It noted that Zircon missiles are designed to strike large maritime and ground targets.

Such missiles can be launched from ships, submarines and frigates. According to the cited data, the Zircon’s flight range reaches up to 1,000 kilometers, while the missile itself is capable of developing hypersonic speed.

It was separately emphasized that intercepting Zircon missiles is complicated by their high speed and ability to maneuver both in the midcourse and terminal phases of the trajectory.
